Frequently Asked Questions About CBD

What does CBD stand for, and what is it?

CBD stands for cannabidiol and is a naturally-occuring chemical compound found alongside THC in the cannabis family of plants—most abundantly in hemp. Hemp produces CBD with less than 0.3% THC so it’s a prime source of CBD for oils and other products. Unlike THC, it’s not psychoactive so it doesn’t impair your mind.

Can CBD Help With...

We do not make any claims for specific health benefits, but you can definitely Google "Can CBD help with..." to find research studies and additional information from verified sources on the interwebz.

Supplementing your lifestyle with CBD varies from person to person, and may help promote relaxation, help maintain normal emotional balance, promote the body's innate resistance to pathogens and promote mental alertness.

It may also enhance exercise tolerance and reduce recovery time when exercising/partaking in athletics.

What is full spectrum vs. broad spectrum CBD?

As of right now, all of hello amber's products are broad spectrum CBD with the exception of our Cloud Kissed Lime full spectrum tincture.

The difference between full spectrum and broad spectrum CBD is whether or not it contains THC. Full spectrum CBD contains THC while broad spectrum CBD products have removed it. Broad spectrum CBD products are ideal for those wanting all the benefits of CBD without consuming THC for personal, professional, or legal reasons. Both contain a full range of other beneficial cannabinoids and terpenes from the plant. There is also a third kind of CBD called CBD Isolate which fully isolates CBD from all other compounds to present an almost pure CBD product.

Do your products contain THC?

The majority of hello amber's products contain no THC and are THC free - these products are marked as 'Broad Spectrum."

We do carry a full spectrum tincture that contains 0.3% or less THC in it. The product page for any full spectrum product will note this information as well.

What's carrier oil?

Carrier oil, as you might have guessed, is an oil that carries CBD extracted from the hemp plant. Carrier oils are plant-based fatty oils as CBD is soluble in fats and oils, not water. The oil allows CBD to dissolve making it easier to use. Carrier oil also enhances CBD absorption and makes measuring dosages easier. There are different types of carrier oils each with their own benefits.

At this time hello amber products use sunflower oil or high-quality virgin olive oil, depending on the product.

Does CBD get you high?

Nope! Unlike THC, CBD isn’t psychoactive meaning it doesn’t affect your brain the same way. On a technical level, CBD compounds don’t bind to areas of the brain called CB1 receptors in the same way THC does. In fact, CBD acts as a CB1 antagonist, meaning it can block or inhibit effects of THC that produce a regular high.

When's the best time of day to take CBD?

The best time of day to take CBD depends on what you’re taking it for, the dosage, and the type of CBD product you’re using. Oils kick in the fastest and are a great way to support clarity and be ready to take on the challenges of the day. Slower acting products taken in the evening may promote relaxation after a hectic day, promote better sleep, and let you wake up feeling more refreshed. Creating a ritual specific to you and learning how your body reacts to your dosage will help you determine the best time of day to take CBD for you.

Do you have lab tests available to look at?

Yes, we do! Each product page has a link to a lab test conducted by a third party lab for you to review.

Where is the hemp sourced?

Our hemp is sustainably sourced and entirely grown in the US. After harvesting, it’s dried and warehoused then sent to the processing and manufacturing plant in Colorado.

How long does CBD take to work?

The amount of time it takes to feel the effects of CBD depend on several factors including how you take it, how often you take it, body weight, metabolism, product quality, and dosage. Ingesting CBD is the fastest way to feel its effects. CBD oils absorb into your system faster, potentially feeling their effects within minutes, while edibles (like gummies) may take up to an hour to kick in. Taking CBD regularly will produce the best results.

What extraction process is used for these products?

There are different extraction processes that can be used. Our hemp is extracted through a process involving supercritical CO2 for the highest quality broad spectrum hemp oil available. This method helps preserve the  flavonoids, terpenes and phytocannabinoids.

Does CBD show up in a drug test?

Broad spectrum CBD alone will not show up on a drug test since most are designed to detect THC breakdowns. Broad spectrum products entirely remove THC during the extraction process.

That being said, it’s important to note that some CBD products, like our full spectrum tincture, may contain trace amounts of THC (>0.3%). We recommend using full spectrum at your own risk if you take drug tests regularly. While it typically won't show up, it heavily depends on the frequency and dosage being consumed.
